Abraham Drinkin Companion Mod
First up is the Abraham Drinkin mod. This companion doesn’t have a full dialogue tree, so we recommend using the Gruvey Tron mod to control his actions. Abraham Drinkin comes equipped with the Lincoln Repeater and a good supply of .44 ammo. Interestingly, if he finds a scoped .44, he will swap his weapon, even though the damage is lower.
The downside to this mod is that Abraham doesn’t sneak, which can be annoying in certain situations. He also tends to complain quite a bit.
Ties That Bind – Amanda Companion Mod
The next mod, Ties That Bind, introduces Amanda, the player’s older sister. It’s best to have this mod installed from the beginning of the game. Amanda is fully voiced and provides valuable information about the wasteland, your parents, and Dr. Lee. Be prepared to give her plenty of ammo, as she burns through it quickly. We recommend also giving her a melee weapon.

Dogmeat’s Leather Armor Mod
The Dogmeat’s Leather Armor mod isn’t a new companion, but an upgrade for the beloved Dogmeat. With this mod, you can equip Dogmeat with leather armor and a backpack.
The teddy bear ears on the backpack move with Dogmeat, which is a fun detail. This mod increases Dogmeat’s carrying capacity and hit points, making him more valuable in your journey.
Rodney the Mirelurk Companion Mod

Our final companion mod introduces a friendly Mirelurk named Rodney. This mod features a fully functioning dialogue tree and even includes a unique inventory. When you first meet Rodney, he carries a Nuka-Cola Quantum, and you can give him additional items like Stimpaks.
The only issue with Rodney, as well as Abraham Drinkin, is that they can sometimes vanish for hours. It’s speculated that they might be off drinking Nuka-Cola Quantum together.
